Rear brake conversion for bombardier ds 50 & 90

I have recently purchased a ds50 & a ds90. My two boys are accustom to riding the china quads that have foot brakes. Is there any way i can mod these to have a foot brake. I would like to do away with the rear drum brakes on both of them. If that means changing swing arms or whatever i need to do. Im not sure what will interchange off other quads.

you d have to count your spline and see if you can find a disk that would go on there. I just put a gxsr rear brake on a 01 scrambler. was pretty cheap and not too hard to do. I can post some picture s if you cant find a bolt on set up.

i had the brake drum machined down and drilled to accept the brake disk. the bracket holding the caliper is just temp but i think you get the idea. the bracket holding the foot peddle and master just took a lil trial and error to figure out where everything needed to be. foot peddle is off a cr80. im sure just about any peddle could be made to work. in all i have less than $100 into the conversion.

That's awesome. Very creative. I might have found a way to convert mine with out custom parts if the eton rear disc fits the bombardier's. I will still have to fab up the foot brake but that shouldn't be to bad. I appreciate the ideas. I will post my progress hopefully to help others that are working with the older quads.

The ds90 has 24 splines on the axle. The 2005 Eton VIPER 90 has 19 splines on the axle. Or that is what the one im looking at has. Anyone know of another quad that has disc breaks and has a 24 spline axle?
