Screw it in to the head where the plug goes.Get the engine to top dead center.Set the gage to 0 and then turn the motor back how ever many thousands you need to.The gage will be going back-wards so remember that.(ex 90 is 10/ 80 is 20 and so on).Once you got it at the proper setting then line the inner rotor up properly and tighten it down.Recheck it and make any corrections you may need to.One hint is to install the stator n the middle of it's adjusting range so you can fine tune the timing just in case you don't install the inner rotor dead on.
