Spacing in inches from the outside to inside of the wheel so that would be 3" on the inside and 2" on the outside. An example would be say you had a 4-1, the quad would be narrower

is there anything wrong with flipping the wheels around so they make the quad wider? thats what i was going for.

Aside from the horrible ride they will produce and the fact the caliper is exposed, nothing wrong.

Dont do it, buy offset wheels or get wider arms.

    i was looking at these

i want the wheel to space out not in, this wheel would be a 4 in 1 out right? I was gonna flip it around so it would be 4 out, but how does that ruin the ride?

or maybe i would get the 3 in 2 out and flip it around i need to check what the stock offset is for the 400ex up front

3+2 is stock offset for all quads.4+1 would make you 1 inch narrower on each side.2+3 would make you 1 inch wider.dont flip your wheels, its just ghetto.plus your valve stem will hit your caliper requiring you to drill a new hole on the other side for a stem and fill the existing hole.plus the wheels flipped will put extra pressure on your spindles and such.a spacer kit would probly be ok but its still ghetto.better suspension is better than more width.
