    Soaking Chain?

Hey guys my brother had a newish chain on his bike and then got a longer swinger so he bought another longer chain. What can i soak his other chain in to get the grease and stuff off without hurting the O-Rings? Thanks

i just use a parts cleaner

but you might want to think twice about installing a used chain, on different sprockets, the chain does wear to the sprockets, and a thrown chain can do MAJOR damage,

it would make a ok spare in a pinch, but new quality chain installed properly,
matched with new sprockets are a cheap investment in your lower end

I have used kerosene to clean my o-rings chains for over a decade, never had a problem.

    or diesel fuel.

I don't lube my o-ring chain either short of the WD40 I spray on it after washing. My chains seem to last longer than others who spray chain lube on what is basically a sealed chain if you have an o-ring or x-ring chain.

Wd40 and a chain brush will get it spotless. Chain wax us the best stuff I've used if you follow the directions.
