    03 Predator Battery

anyone know if an 03 predator will run without a battery hooked up?

Went to start it yesterday and it had a weak battery. Used the jump box to start it and as soon as i shut the jump box off or disconnect a cable the bike shuts off. Seems to be charging and there is no current draw when the bike is off.

thanks - I appreciate it. I actually called the local dealer and spoke w/ a service tech and he confirmed that in the Preds DC CDI system, you need the battery in place to provide voltage even though the alternator will provide power too. Not all bikes are this way but the 03 Pred definitely is.

got a new battery in it and we rode all day yesterday w/ no issues!
