    radiator coolant

    my 04 trx450r over heated..do you have to change the coolant since it did?cause my coolant tester is showing 1 ball floating

    1 ball floating is not good. if it's a five ball tester or more it is still not good. it will still cool but not nearly as good as it should.

    i would personally not ride it until it got changed.

    ok so you would change the coolant?..i mean its brand new coolant and it over heated and now its sayin the coolant is bad

    you said it yourself that the coolant tester showed 1 ball floating. that is almost as bad as it gets next to none floating. assuming the coolant was boiling and spitting out, water has evaporated leaving a 50/50 mixture before overheating to a unknown mixture now.

    it could be a 70/30 or 80/20 ethyl-glycol/water mixture depending on how much water evaporated.


    the coolant tester says it's lost it's ability to cool properly so it's time to change the coolant.
