    788 17 28 belt anyone running it

I am running a 788 17 28 belt and was wondering if anyone else is running this belt. Have koso variator with 1 shim. 1500 rpm topgun spring and 2000 rpm shoe springs. It pulls like a freight train but would always like more. What would be the advantages of running the 787 16 30 belt over this one?

what happens wen you take out the shim ,if im not mistaking doesnt the shim help with bottom end . and check your belt hight on variator. take a dry erase marker and mark your variator ,do like a 100 foot run and check the variator . you should be around a 1/4 inch to top of variator , if not maybe go a little heavyer on the roller wghts ,, and whats your sprocket gearing

It bogs on bottom if I take out the shim. With the shim in it will pull wheelies on black top. I am also running posi grip bell and gearing is 19/33 with 18" sno hogs I did the marker and it is completely rubbed off exept about 1/8" from top. I am running 6.0 gram rollers this is on a polaris predator 90

My other machine is an Apex Running Koso variator. Same belt rides 3/16 from top and 5.5g rollers. I am running topgun 1500 spring 2000 rpm shoe springs and Dc slipper clutch. It doesn't hook up like the posi bell but still pulls hard. I am running 20/35 gearing on this with 18 razers.

The belt on both machines sits about 1/8' out of secondary clutch. Just looking to see what advantages I would have with going with the 787 16 30 belt over 788 17 28

I think the 787 will sit alittle lower giving you a little more take off.If your running 1/8th from the top then you are good. How much belt travel are you seeing before the quad startes to move?

the belt is flush with the top of secondary when it starts to move. It is almost 1/8" above secondary when not moving.
