    what oil?

    DDue to not much action in the Polaris forum I'm going to post here. What oil does everyone recommend in a 2001 Polaris sportsman 500 ho and how much? Thanks Jeremy

    idk what type clutch it has but rotella 15w40 is what id use, tough stuff and is cheap. 13 bucks for a gallon

    ^^^ What he said....all though I use the rotella on my transmission side (450r) I use Maxima on the motor side. Maxima is good oil.

    Go to the dealer and get an oil change kit. Its about 30 bucks for 2 ltr of Polaris synthetic oil and a filter. If you drain the oil tank and engine it takes the full 2 ltrs and change the filter and your done. Kwick and easy.
