    Cr85 motor in Raptor 250

Is anyone making motor mounts to put a cr85 motor in a Raptor 250 frame?

I'd bet not. For some reason people have not warmed up to making the Rappy 250 into a mod. I don't know why either. With the heavy 250 engine it is said to only weigh 313lbs. With a little cr or yz it'd be real light......
We have a 250 and I may build it with a YZ 85 over time.
Someone performs well on one as a mod then everyone will want one....... gotta be cheaper than a JB or Cobra or Roberts or Fisher...

Kids on quads builds them with crf 150R motors in them, and I am sure we could put just about any mini motor in one. there are pictures at kidsonquads.com.

Alex, do you know how much they are selling the Super-mini for? Wonder how much it weighs...

We have both a Cobra mod and a Raptor 250. I wouldn't recommend the Raptor as a mini mod frame. It's just to heavy. The cobra probably weighs almost 100 lbs less with the extended a-arms, swinger, etc. that are required for the Raptor. Even with my fat butt, I would rather ride the Cobra 85 around the track than the Raptor 250. The 150 motor would probably make the Raptor a pretty fun machine since it would put out more power than the stock air cooled motor.

Desert riding or racing is a different story, weight isn't as important, comfort is more important. I'd pick the Raptor.

we made one for walkers a couple of years ago, with the 150 motor in it, I never weighed it, but it was a lot lighter then our larger mods. Give me a call at the shop, on pricing, they are also cheaper to make. 616-363-1215
    thanks Tom
