    2004 2005 TRX 450r

    What are these quads worth that are 6 and 7 years old.

    im looking for an 05 but not sure what to offer or even think about offering because people have prices like 3000 for a stock 05? is that crazy or good price?

    I wouldn't pay over $2000, for a stock or nearly stock 04/05. That's alot of years on those machines. Probably going to need some replacement parts.

    what should i look for in buying an 05? going to look at one tomorrow! anything i should really check? anything known to go wrong with them?

    just listen close to the motor,... ticks,... knocks and what not. how easily it cranks, and starts.. usually tires are bald on the 05s. ... clutch play ... check the oil ... see if hes changed it reasonably well... ....

    normally its the cam chain, in my case it was from the guy not running a crank breather filter so it dumped all the dirt right on the chain. and you might want to check the bearings, swing arm and back, those get neglected quite a bit.

    You could also make a judgment on neglect by the chain. Is it groved and is it lubed or dry and sticking in place. It just all depends on how picky you are about it.
