2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 4wd works sometimes

Sometimes it goes into 4wd. Sometimes you have to back & forth to get it to engage. Any ideas??

change the fluid in the front hubs and refill them.

if that doesnt work try flushing them a couple times especially if it hasnt been changed recently.

if that doesnt work your going to have to take the hub apart and inspect from there. also trace the wires from the 4wd switch to the hubs and make sure no wires got caught or ripped on anything
