    Long travel on a 300ex

Ok guys I need some help! I'm wanting to put a long travel mx front end on my 300ex! What are some good suggestions? Is it true you take 400ex front ends and put them on 300ex? And what all do I need what are some good places to buy stuff from? Thank you

you can put a 400ex front end on, you are getting +1 or +2 a-arms i think, you will need the a-arms, shocks (16.25) which are bigger, and the shock relocator bracket

We run the Rath Racing front shock relocator on the front and love it alot, very tuff. Also is 16.25 the correct shocks. Our's are 19.75" from center of the eye's. Just wondering. But our's are 450r shocks.

I run the 450r Fox Float evols with 400ex Houser slycast xc long travel a-arms with the long travel Rath shock relocator. It's very pricy for this set up but worth every penney!

16.25 is standard length on both 400ex and 450r shocks i believe, because many people swap stock 400 shocks with stock 450r shocks with no mods. 19.75 is long travel, not 100% sure if 450r and 400ex have same long travel length, but im sure they probably do. you can run standard travel 400ex arms and standard travel 400ex/450r shocks with a relocator, long travel 400ex arms and long travel 450r/400ex shocks with a relocator, or i believe long travel 400ex arms and standard travel 450r/400ex shocks with no relocator will work as well. obviously, long travel arms and shocks would be the best, most expensive, but definately the best. better geometry and longer travel. make sure you have 400ex a arms though because they bolt right up. 450 arms have different mounting widths or something. anything past +1 arms would need new brake lines, but 300ex +2 lines should be long enough for 400ex +3 a arms. sounds crazy, but i believe thats true.

KOQ racing has long travel a-arms, the relocator bracket, and a rear long travel swing arm, for the 300ex. Jim at motowoz makes a really nice set of shocks to go with them.
