I've seen on alot of forums about installing a block on a 400ex aand most of them say you may need to buy a new lever and perch and ill give my way of doing of for free without snipping the wires either, install the block l, remove the cables from the perch by pullling the rubber thing back, no need to snip it, remove all the clips holding the cable and pull it out thru the back. Then take your metal piece that was holding the mechanism for the brake and put it in a vice and cut off what you don't need with a hacksaw, and don't forger to file it down you don't want it to poke you
