looking to buy a brute force 650

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a used Brute 650. What should I be checking for or looking for issue wise, when I go check them out? Thanks ahead.Also should I go straight or independent.

what year is it? I got an '08 750 and I had problems with a differential gear nut backing off and almost taking out the differential. Caught it in nick of time before it did some big damage. I heard the '08 750's had a problem with that. Dont know if the 650's had that glitch or not
