gas tank problems for carb swap

Ive heard the gas tank is in the way when you put on the 06 carb on an 05. Can someone please post pictures of how they cut the carb or what they did to the gas tank. I want to be ready when my carb gets here.thanks

From past reads, it seems that all you will need to do is, trim a little off the top of the carb. Doesn't sound like it is too difficult.

Dont think its shorter if its 40 mm the slide has to come up same distance to open and the neddle jet is the same. im pretty shure people heated there tanks up and molded shape when they were building the old 350 R/X's.

    ^^ Agreed ^^ That's what I have. Clearance is not a issue.

if i cut the carb then dirt will get inside where the heat shield covers. Then i will be cleaning it every ride. ive molded the tank with a heat gun a lot and im afraid if i do anymore then its going to break. I think im going to put taller rubber bushings that support the rear of the tank.
