help!!!!! dang thing broke again!!!!

i have an 07 renegade, stock aside from big horn tires sized larger than stock, the plastic "cam" behind the trans pulley has broken twice now. first off why would that part be plastic????? does any company make a better one, or is the one from the outlander or the new side by side maybe better???? the first break it was this and the plastic torque ring on the same pulley that went, so i replaced/cleaned all parts, even installed a new belt. now this one has broken with only a few hours of riding on it. any one have the same issues?
