    550xp vs 850xp detailed discussion

Hey all, I'm wanting to hear from owners of both the 550 and the 850 here. I'm trying to decide the best one for me and wanted to hear some first hand commentary on the ride. I ride aggressive slopes with rolls and pitches around 45*, I know the 550 hugs these like a champ at all speeds, but how does the 850 compare with the extra weight? I appreciate all informative input.

Polaris sent me one of each ahile back to test and write about (story is on the homepage somewhere)

Personally, everyone here liked the 550 over the 850 in just about every catagory.

I've ridden both and own the 850.

They both handle the same the only difference is the 850 breaths fire when you punch the gas.
I personally like all those extra ponnies for when you need that extra punch and punch the 850 sure has. It gives my outlaw a run for it's money on a straight run.

the weight isn't that different ether.

    850
Dry Weight 759 lb (345 kg)

    550
Dry Weight 722 lb (328 kg)

thats not a lot of weight to go from 50hp to 70hp
