    wheel issue

My right side rear wheel has a wobble and the previous owner said that it had come off of the quad when he rode it once or twice, he said that it would need an axle. I think it might just be the hub is there any way of checking to figure out which one it is?

Easiest way to tell would be to get the rear wheels off the ground, and crank it up. You should then be able to tell what is bent. It might help if you took the wheels completely off. If everything is smooth without the wheel, you may have a bent wheel.

well if the wheel wobbles that could definetly mean that the hubs loose the previous owner probably did alot of bicycles which wears down the hub and the axle which causes the wobbling so im thinking your gonna need an axle and a hub

swap the hub to the other side.if the left wobbles its the hub.if the right keeps wobbling ,swap wheels.if it keeps wobbling you know its the axle.

So I took off the wheel today and noticed that there was a cotter pin in it so I figured alright maybe the nut had a problem with backing off, I figured it might not be as bad as I thought but it didn't work out like that. I took the cotter pin out and the nut just fell off, there wasn't any threads in the nut or on the axle...what a joke, anybody have an axle for sale, I have a 440 setup so I'm looking for a heavy duty axle. Thanks for the info.

im in the same situation. left hub nut is stripped, hub is partially stripped, axle is warn and theres play in the sprocket hub.

and just because we both have 440's, does not mean we need heavy duty axles. just that we have a bit more power. unless you do crazy mx jumps or your; no offense, a huge guy, then you don't need a stronger axle.

I'm a pretty aggressive trail rider so I do hit a couple of jumps here and there and at 6 foot tall and185lbs I don't see myself as a big guy lol...

Haha, pretty much the same here. i ride really rough trails, get air the odd time, and race flattrack. stock axle is fine. im just a bit heavier then you though.

If your looking for an extended axle i would suggest a g-force, they are really cheap compared to like lsr and durablue
they also have a lifetime warrenty and are really not a bad axle, the ppl that say ya they suck are prob people that havent tried one, i was completly satisfied with mine
