Local track.. (Tips needed)

Shot some MX photo's the other day at a local track and tried out some different settings... Not to sure how many of them I really like and am anxious to go out there again. Let me know what you guys think of these shots, and give me some advice for next time.

All shot with 80-200... I'm thinking I need to shoot at roughly 1/500th for a nice blur of the wheels, but a sharp rider. Any ideas?

Also realized I need to shoot tighter, and watch my backgrounds.

They look pretty good. Yep, fill teh frame unless you are showing some of the track/background etc..

Shutter speed can vary with the light and what your intent is.

1/1000 will bring things to a halt, 1/500 as youve noticed can keep the rider sharp but the wheels to blur. Works very well when you pan but not so well when the rider is coming at or away from you.

Keep tabs on your white balance

And keep shooting!
