    carrier bearings?

I have a 2009 525 IRS with only half a season of riding time on it. While I was adjusting the chain I noticed that when I grab the sproket with one hand and the brake disk with the other I can feel some play in what I belive would be called the carrier bearing. It's not alot but I dont think there should be any play there. Anyone else had these bearings fail so soon? Much of a job to change them?

yes this is a common problem. bearings change out similar to a normal carrier.

Maybe some others can chime in but I don't see any aftermarket bearings available you can try to go to a bearing place and match it up should be a 6014 I think they range from $14-$70 each depending on the brand or you could go back with the oem ones.

When i had to change my bearings i found a link on polarisriders.com that adding a zerk nipple and a relief valve on the carrier and adding grease till u see it coming out the relief valve would give the bearings a better chance of lasting longer. Well it has been almost 2 years and i have no play in the bearings yet.

There are instructions on this forum too, search for bearing or bearings and I believe it's pretty easy to find.
