    330 Jetting

I am finishing up my build this weekend and I would like to know what jets to run for a 330 big bore with a stock carb. I plan on running this carb until I find a cheap 400ex carb.

just trial and error, man. it's better to start out a little rich. here's a few tips:

-if you give the throttle a quick blip from nothing at all to almost wide-open and it bogs or cuts out, your pilot jet is too small or you just need to adjust the mixture screw (which controls the pilot flow really)

-if you get backfire on deceleration, you're too lean. this can usually be fixed by adjusting the clip on the needle (moving the clip down gives you more fuel. moving it up leans you out)

    -bogging while riding means rich

-don't worry too much about the main jet until you get it idling correctly.

-it's better to determine whether you should go up or down on the needle and main jet by going up a slight incline. you can't tune the entire thing in your garage.

    no throttle to 1/8: pilot
    1/4 to half: needle
    3/4 to WOT: main jet
(this might not be exact but pretty close and has always helped me out)
250R - LRD, Renthals, IMS, Graydon, Douglas, Lonestar, One, etc.
300ex - Curtis Sparks, Tag, Clarke, Renthal, ITP, Kenda, Champion, PEP, Douglas, Laeger, K&N, etc.

Thanks that will really help. As soon as I get time I plan on posting pics of what I have done so far.
