    Predator 500 cam marks

My friend has a 500 and it quite starting, Checked the usuall stuff. Now we are checking the timing and cam gap. I have done other quads and bikes but I am not sure on this one. With the timing marks set, the exhaust cam looks like it is one tooth higher then the top of the head, intake is dead on. From other quads I would say it has jumped time on the exhaust but cant find any pics on how it should be. Any ideas on other issues to look for would help also. spent hours looking for a pic of the cam marks but have found nothing on the predator.

timing sounds right. intake is set with marks at 9'oclock and 12'oclock. exhaust is one tooth advanced from intake. when checking time be sure mark on flywheel is set to the "t" mark. if your timing is right check your intake valves, if they are too tight it will be a pain to start. 006 on intake, 010 on exhaust. hope this helps.

if its spinning and not catching it could be your one way clutch... or on your magneto side where the fly wheel is located there is a woodruff key that tend to shear if it shears it usually turns 180 degrees and its hard to determine with out check tdc with out putting a screw driver in the spark plug hole. but the timing marks are correct the exuast cam should be one tooth forward or clockwise
