    01 500 scrambler issue

    Trying to get my 2001 500cc scrambler figured out. It is leaking fuel out of the overflow, will not idle with out pressure on the throttle, and is back firing. When I shut the fuel off it will idle down and will run if I turn up the idle. I have pulled the carb off twice now and checked everything out and cleaned it. Everything looks fine. The float looks good and seems to be working properly. What am I missing?

    Honda trx 250r @ 350cc
    Eddie Sanders 330 bigbore kit, 5mm stroker crank, ESR TRX 5, Centermount pipe and Silencer, Hinson clutch, AC bumper, K&N air filter, +2 lonestar front end, +4 ACE Fabrication swing arm, Lonestar Axle, 40.5mm carb, PRW oversized radiator, Nology profire coil and plug wire, Kenda Radials or 4 SNOWs and RAZR's, 110 race fuel, ported by Neil Pritchard, anything that can be Powder coated is

    sounds like something is sticking in the carb, needle or the float, have you done the carb mod from HPD?

    For use with airbox lid removed or highly modified airbox.

    Includes: CV Spring, Main jet, Needle Jet, drill bit and instructions.

    It is $30 and makes a nice difference in throttle response

    either the float is sticking or the fuel needle and seat have gotten hard and no longer seal, you should start with checking the floats and making sure they dont hang up, if it still does it then get a fuel needle valve and seat.
