Got fuel & spark but no start?

This thing has spark, a clean filter, and is getting fuel but it will not fire up.

I can see a mist blow out the exhaust sometimes... what should be burning... so I think it has compression to.

I'm kind of confused... unless it is flooding to death.

Am I going to have to remove the plastics and tank to get the spark plug out and a compression tester in...

Or is there a trick on that?

I was starting to suspect that too.
But after some more digging I figured out the Z400 is kind of a strange beast.

Started figuring it out when I re-checked the spark... not just looking for color but intensity... and it wasn't very intense.

However, the coil was checking out good.

That's when I found out the battery voltage was not so good. Never ran into a motor that would spin over that easy without enough voltage for a good spark.

Charged the battery up and finally got it to fire by giving it a little throttle. But then it would run but would not idle.

So I tore it all apart and no wonder...
There was so much junk in that carb the bowl drain was plugged I figured out when I went to take the carb off.

I found the carb insides interesting also... 3 jets...

As you can tell I've never worked on a Z400 before.
