    UNI or K&N

    im getting a new airfilter and just confused on what is better in the airfilter world but im getting an outerweras airbox lid and an outerwears filter cover no matter what so any info would be nice ill take whatever you got to tell me

    lets fire it up again boys sorry about that. this is beat to death and always starts a good war amongst the normally peaceful society of A.A.D.S. members in the 400 forum. lol. my vote is for k&n by the way. steve

    K&N's have better flow, but more flow=less filtration.

    K&N's on cars, Foam on quads. The foam quad filters have large surface areas to make up for the lost flow and filter better.

    thanks and i know soeone who drag races and he runs kn on his racers and uni and kn on his 6-8 other trail quads but he likes both he said kn for racing uni for trail cause it has about the same performance gains for 1/2 the price

    with either one i suggest running a k&n outerwears then it helps with the dirt and helps with water too. steve

    I like foam filters. I run a moose on my 300 and had a UNI on my old 400.

    UNI for sure k&n has POOR filtration. I have pics to prove it.
    05' fan cooled 416ex, zrpilot's motor, GT Thunder 10.8:1 piston, GT Thunder HD headstuds, HD cam chain, HRC cam, GT Thunder 8 plate clutch, GT Thunder XC Port & Polish, GT Thunder XC CDI, terry cable throttle, 450r carb(48 pilot, needle 3rd from the top 178 main), white brothers e series pro-meg muffler, white brothers header,UNI, aluminum air box no lid, galfer ss brakes lines, houser +2 arms, TCS dual rate shocks with rezzies, lonstar +2 swingarm and +4 axle, LSR billet sprocket hub, tag fat bars, maier race plastics, kenda knarly mxr 18s kenda klaw mxf 20x6, spal 4" puller fan, 14/36 gearing and ..... Dual rate Axis rear shock, AMR monster coil, roll design +2 steering stem

    that one dirty spot is where i prob missed when wiping it out from the K&N and the big pieces just fell in when removing the filter.

    Still want to give K&N a try???
