    want more power

    i just got a 05 450r a week ago its all stock and runs awesome as it is i just put dg nerf bars and a dg front and rear bumper on it but wanting alot more bottom end i mainly trail ride and hill climb i just ordered a hmf pipe and the hrc kit what else do i need and what graphics look good its black

    I would remove the airbox lid and jet accordingly. That, along with the pipe, should be plenty for now.

    When you say "remove the airbox lid", do you mean permanently? If so, can't dirt and water get into the airbox pretty easily or does the seat protect it enough?

    Yes he means "permantatly" but the filter is there for a reason and it has alot of protection with the plastic airbox and seat. Keep your filter well oiled and cleaned and youll be fine. But if you are overly concerned there are different routes you can do. There are lids that are a k&n type lid so they offer protection while still allowing much more airflow then your typical lid

    most people who take off their lid put an outerwears prefilter on their filter, and they work awesome. if you have a k&n an outerwears is strongly suggested. it just depends on your type of riding

    If I had my air box lid off and was planning on hitting some deep water, should I put my lid back on, or would it be alright to leave it off?

    put an 06-09 FCR carb on it- it will give it more snap down low
