    Cheap Power?

    hey i have the following mods

    -fmf titanium 4 pipe
    -opened up stock headers
    -uni air box vent

    thats it for motor any cheap mods??

    i was going to get a big gun rev box and a K&n
    2001 400ex ( SOLD )
    -ac nerf bars, j.e piston, dunlop quadmax tires, fmf titanium 4 shorty pipe, opened up stock headers, k&n air filter with outerwear, stock air lid w/outerwear, k&n oil filter, dg bumber, tusk handguards, pro design kill switch, 06 450r oem hood, moose racing CR high bars, asr parking block off plate, 450r rear shock, shorty clutch lever, custom gusset, ltr450r rear rims, fmf stage 2 jet kit , choke removed, snorkel removed and plugged , roost mx graphics, ebc brake pads, AC racing nerfs, renthal chain & sprockets, race cut fenders, renthal grips, elka shock covers, asv clutch lever, yfz450r shocks

    k&n, timing key and a 450 carb. monster coil too maybe. that would be about it for less than 200. steve

    not really the 400 doesnt make any power up that high in the rpm range. i would not waste my money on it but you can do some reading in it if you search it. Some say it helps others dont. it depends on what kind you get and what you are looking to do with it. steve

    Rev boxes are a waste of money.

    Steve hit the nail on the head. Timing key, K&N, and an AMR coil would be money well spent.

    Scrape the K&N and get "Twin Air". The K&N lets too much small particles through the filter.

    definitely SCRAPE it down good so that beast that way it WILL let some in. that gives an advantage to the twin air now we arent comparing apples to apples more like a pear to an apple lol. sorry i thought it was funny, i hope you did too. If it is oiled properly and not scraped it should be fine. each person likes something different. I have ran my k&n for over 4 years with no problems. I use an outerwear and it is all good that helps with water and smaller stuff along with the extra filter. Either one will be fine. steve

    ya my mechanic up the road said a guy rode with a k&n filter and trashed his motor
