Question Honda Thumb Throttle Unit on a 250??

My brother and I are about to purchase a '92 lt250r that has a twist throttle unit installed. To avoid any unnecessary newb accidents from other people that we let ride the quad, it is probably best to go with the regular thumb throttle.

Which thumb throttle unit should we go with?

    Stock one?

I've read of polaris owners switching to Honda units. Are these any good?

Aftermarket one? Concerned about price also.

Any advice from the pros would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Tony

if it has an aftermarket carb like a pwk, then u can use a honda thumb with the motion pro cable, but motion pro probably has whatever u need if u call them...u can probably find a 400ex throttle cheaper and it's just as a good as a 250r

i'm running a 400ex thumb throttle on my lt. i also purchased a honda 250r throttle cable as the threads where the cable goes in on the thumb throttle are bigger.. the cable is longer which gives more room to route it, and the 400 throttle is much more comfortable than the original lt piece....
