    A Little Clutch Help Please

Lately i have been reading alot about the the cvt trying to understand better how they work.I have been sending my motor out to have any work done on the clutching and that is stupid of me.What i have now is 1500 shoe springs and 2000 ztr spring. The rollers are 4.5 so i am told but have not confirmed that yet.

What it does is takes about 10 ft for it to come alive.I leaves the gate sluggish and then about 10 feet out it rips. What would you change first?

I was told by the guy who did the clutch work that my pipe was a problem.Could that be or can a pipe be worked around?

Have you tried a 1000 or 1500 ztr spring and 2000 small springs. The roller weights would be in the range of 3.5 to 4.2. 787 belt.
I am by no means an expert but this set up on a 70 should be close.

I have done nothing yet other than replacing the 2000 because it was getting weak.I am not against buying up some rollers and springs to test it with. The belt is a stock e-ton belt.Should i be running some other belt?

I have an Athena 70 cc kit, pe20 carb and stock Drr 90 pipe. Your rollers are way too heavy. upon advice from Marc at hot quads i used 3.75 rollers, 2000 little springs and have a 1500 torque spring and the thing rips now.

The lakes pipe should be fine. Just so you know the ZTR spring is a strong spring. If it's a 1000 it acts more like a 1500,,, a 1500 acts like a 2000 and so on.

I know nobody wants to waste money but I would start with a 1000 ZTR and 3.5 to 3.75 rollers with 2000 stall springs.

What kind of Lakes pipe do you have?If it is the producktion pipe you should be fine this is a fairly good pipe should atleast be on par with the Apex pipe,we used the Lakes pipe on a predator 90.If your rear clutch springs are fresh your first step should be to try lighter rollers, just remember that the ZTR 2000 torque spring is about the stiffest spring you can get.And the jetting of your stock carb may also play a part here.If you buy a set of 3g rollers and a set of 4g and you already have 4,5g rollers you can alternate rollers to get 3,5g and 3,75g
