    Outlaw conversion

I converted an 08 Outlaw 450 to 09 Outlaw 450 plastics. And it worked great.

i bought an 09 tank and drille hoels in it, made a backing plate and used the 08 fuel shut off and installed it in the 09 tank. Used o-rings and silcone to seal. does not leak at all.

I took the old tank mounts cut them off, figured out where to place them with the 09 tank . and welded them on . works fine . had to add a tab for the rear fenders as seen in the pic. Sorry about the bad quality image . im sure you can figure it out.

Nice job and I am sure this will help some guys who have been writing me. One of my main things was getting rid of the idler steering system, I was going through to many parts. I am happy to say, 2 xc races and the steering is still tight with the new 09 newer style.

So u modified the 08 steering to be the 09>?? lets see a pic of that i was thinking about it when i was doing the conversion but thought to much cutting. I only shortened my steering stem an inch to work better.

I am in the grassroots program so I bought a frame, plastics, seat IMS tank, Rath Stem, and quad tech hood. I have yet to put that one together and am in middle of it. I got a great deal on an 09 IRS from Bairs Polaris in North Canton Michigan. They Sponsor John Gallagher Sr. I have raced the IRS twice and might be running it this weekend if I do not get the 525S together.

I have heard that there are some 09 lower steering stem brackets out there that get welded to the frame but not many. You could make one possibly. I may try and convert the other frame over also like you did.

That is a Quadtech hood for a YFZ that he used. It looks good how he filled in the gaps.
