Does it shift into high and won't move or will it not even shift into high?

It wont even go into Hi at all. To get it into Low the shifter has to be all the way against the plastic and it barely goes. I might of had it in Reverse when I changed the belt. If that matters.

If you shut it off, then put it in high, can you start it up and be in high?

Nope. I'm working on this for someone and they claim that it shifted fine before, but I dont see how changing a belt would cause this. Even if I take the linkage loose it still dont work. Since I have been messing with it, it wont go into park now either.

Ya that's kinda a drag. I was thinking that changing the belt may have it binding somewhere cause the belt took out some play that it might have had but that would have been answered if you could put it in gear with it not running.

I'm thinking it didn't go into Hi before hand. This quad is pretty beat up.

Are pressing the foot brake? The spring hooks from the foot brake to a pull pin allowing it to go into high and park.

Yes, have been pushing the brake. Going to start taking the gear box apart.

Before you look at the major stuff, On the side of the tranny there is a small black plast cover where the shift linkage goes in, pull that off and make sure something has not become unhooked in there.
