    Output Gear Bearings

What is the proper method of removing the bearings from the output gear for a 99 Sportsman 500? I'm thinking a bearing separator would work. I'm installing the bearings on a new gear, and do not want to damage them. Any recommendations?

If your output sprocket needs replaced, due to excessive wear or damage to either the teeth or the hub splines, plan on purchasing new bearings as well. They will have to be pressed onto the new sprocket. It's also a good idea to check all the internal gearcase components for wear or damage while you have it out and the case is apart. You will save yourself a lot of time and trouble. Just an experienced opinion.
