    07 sportsman 700efi shift problem

A friend has a 2007 700efi polaris sportsman, 700 miles used for checking farm crops. a few things and may be related?
    1. During the winter months, unless warmed in a gargage or like, the ATV will NOT shift at all. its just stuck in the gear you parked it in, no matter how hard you try to pull the shifter it wont move. Once the day warms up or atv is in the shop it will shift fine and the problem will reoccur when used outside for a period. only winter months.

    2. slowing down speeding up etc it sounds like the gears are grinding a bit? related to problem #1?

    3. at slow speeds on pavement it feels like im on a wave road, (not the tire lugs im feeling) just bumps at a constant interval, new disc was put on rear brake, old caliper was hit and broke. replaced it and the disc brake something else broke or bent?

Do you guys think it is oil, shift linkage or just some messed up gears, anyone have this problem.

    shift problem

Check the shift sensor on the side of the transmission it could be going bad or broke in side not allowing it to shift. I had similar problem that was it. one way to check it is see if you can grab the sensor and move it back and fourth using your hand and not much effort it should have a good resistance.

    Worth a try.
