    Outlander 800 battery drain

2006 Outlander 800 with warn winch installed by local dealer. Quad is stored with battery tender on in, but go to use quad battery is dead and will not even take a charge. The problem started after dealer installed the winch. The quad has been taken back 2 times and the dealer put in a new battery last time and said to keep a battery tender on it, but still have the problem. They have the winch wired so it even works with the key removed from the ignition. Gonna dis connect winch and see if it goes back to normal,or anyone have any other suggestions?

Sounds like you are on the right track. It needs to be wired though a relay. I think your dealer might have been cutting corners on the install

Worked on it tonight. I'm not that farmiliar with it because its my buddies quad. They had the winch power lead connected right to what looks like a cellinoid. He's going to look at a warn wiring diagram to see if this is recommended, but it doesn't seem right to me that it has power all the time.
