    300ex vs. 400ex axle.

    Are they the same sizes? or is the 400's wider? THe part numbers for the bearings are the same so they must have the same diameter, but is one wider than the other?

    The 400EX axle is wider.

    could you put a 400ex axle on a 300ex?

    I think I've read somewhere on here that you couldnt do it, not sure exactly why you cant though.

    the 400 axle is longer where it goes thru the bearing carrier, you can't tighten it up on a 300, i tried it a couple years ago
