    Yamaha yfzr 250 hybrid build

Started a bit of a buildup for my daughter mid next year. Building a carb 2012 yz250f into a 2013 yfzr frame. Here is a couple of photos of where I am upto at the moment. Engine is sitting in place through the swingarm. I have order extended sprockets to deal with the chain mis-alignment from engine being more narrow.

my next two hurdles I am working on are.

    1. The yz250f carb intake is 55mm OD where as the yfzr air boot is only 47/48mm ID. I think I will be going a custom intake possibly from robel engineering or a local place in Perth Australia ( exhaust builder)

    2. Kick starter (working on at the moment) as the engine is quite narrow compared to the quad engine the kicker has to sit out of the aluminum frame rail to clear to kick.

couple of different ideas but not too sure yet

    - have an extension made up to take the 50mm needed to clear the frame rail without support. ( theory behind this is as the shorter kicker off a banshee or yz125 protrudes the same distance out from the engine case as the original yz250f kicker.)

    - have an extension made up to take the 50mm needed to clear the frame rail with support as pictured with the brackets to bolt to the frame rail to house a nylon bush.

I like that project, have you gotten any farther on it?
