    TRX700XX or TRX450R?

I'm looking to get a new quad here soon. My '05 TRX400EX has served me well, but I have grown out of it. At 6'5" 270lbs, I'm looking for something not only with power, but also something that will be a comfortable ride for me. I've been drooling over the 450R ever since it's release and have always told myself that it was going to be my next bike. Then the 700XX came out. Huge engine, EFI and independent rear on a sport quad? Sold. The independent rear really stands out to me because we mostly do trail riding with a good mix of sand riding as well. Which ever I go with, I'll definitely be getting a rise on the bars for comfort.

My question is, should I be completely sold on the 700XX?

I'm 6'6" and 250-260 depending on how close it is to the holidays.

700XX fit me WAY better than my 400EX I had. I actually went in the dealership to get a 450r and came out with the 700xx.

Yeah, I saw your post in another thread. That's great to hear.

You put any rise on the bars? My friend has a 2" rise on his 450R and it feels awesome. Especially when standing.

If I had it to do all over again, I think I'd go with the 700xx. I'm apparently an average size guy in this group. The very little seat time I have on the 700 convinced me it is way more appropriate for my height/weight than the 400 or 450. Plus I didn't like the way the 450 delivered it's power (verytop-endish - but man once it got wrapped up, it pulled like crazy).

I think the 700 is the sasquatch-club quad. The 400/450 size quads are made for those little tiny mistakes of evolution that would have been eated 1000 years ago.

    Ha!

I was told I looked like a spider riding a lady bug when I was riding mine.

Oh how it groaned with me on sand climbs!

Yeah, people say I look like I am riding a Power Wheels when I am on my 400EX.

Also, what do guys think the best exhaust kit for the XX is? I plan on putting on nerfs, front bumper, exhaust and air filter.

Dude.. go 700xx.. I have had it for 6 months and LOVE IT.

The power is great, I have raced a modded 700R was beaten by 1/2 quad.. and I am STOCK.

Plenty of power, night and day compared to the 400ex..

THE IRS is amazing and comfortable.. The backend is a little high strung in whoops.. lost my balls a couple of times, and 1 time the quad went up my ***.

Overall it is a great bike.. not to mention EFI over carb.

Get the big 3 and open up a whole new world of speed. PCIII, intake, exhaust.

over on club 700xx they have bo white maps.. people are very happy.

450R is a sick bike but still straight axle... punishing IMHO.

Oh, also the IRS is a bit tough to power slide, not that I am doing those often.

I jumped it this weekend,, stay on the back end and she floats just fine.

Overall it is an amazing quad... you wont be disappointed.
