Are you guys running stock a-arms or a plus set up for xc. I got my son a raptor 250 last week, he's 11. It seems pretty stable at stock width.

2010 AHSCS #7 overall
ive got SMS +3+1.5 LT a-arms w/ 4:1 offset wheels, gets the total width to 45.5 inches in the front, just like the big quads. the rear is a SMS +1.5 swinger and a LSR adjustable axle. HLS shocks on the front and a stock rear for now, but it really isnt too bad, i weigh 145 lbs.
Planning a comeback...
Put some good shocks and tires on the standard arms and you will be in good shape. I find the smaller width really helps. Only other suggestion I got but will get flamed for is that I got some spacers for the front from Rockymountain and it squared the front in the back instead of the back being wider. To spend the money for +1 arms seemed silly and it seems to handle the woods good wtih the spacers in the front only. Yes my kid jumps quite a bit and have not had any problems.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.
