    next mod suggestion

I purchased a new 07 leftover 400ex, i did the following so far, HMF slip on, Uni air filter 8-1" holes in the air box lid, 42 pilot & 162 MJ. I want to kick it up a notch in power, a mod or 2, what would most suggest.

If still stock bore. I heard the Curtis Sparks timing key advance is an awesome and inexpensive mod.

I have read about the Sparks key, for the riders who has them installed, I have a feeling it will take away some top end is this so, I don't want give up any top end, we have this long railroad bed 3/4 mile where we really wind them out and there times when I am crakin it hard in 4-5 gears
but if the sparks key will help, i will go for it

I did the timing advance key, and I don't remember losing any top end power. If it lost any I did not notice it at all. I think its the best mod you can do for the price of it. But a cam would add power too.

Agreed on the key and get an xr 400 cam or something. even a stage one hotcam would give you some improvement. I like mine in my 416. It hits pretty hard down low without losing any top. steve

protect it with skids, then suspension...get the handling and power to ground transfer in line...the stock suspension wastes stock power so a ny added power is also a waste...
