I'm in the process of building my own exhaust with the stock headpipe (which I plan to have ceramic coated) and a Supertrapp universal muffler with a 2 in. core. I'm going to start with 10 discs, and go from there. I like the adjustability of the disc setup as far as powerband, and noise level. I know the CT pipe has the same setup, but I really can't spend 5 to 600 bucks on a pipe right now. I don't expect the same kind of power gains from mine as I would get from the CT, but I don't think a few horsepower is out of the question. I'll get some pics and ride results up when I finish it.

    Pipes

My son is a Tucker Rocky rep and I have tried a few pipes, there are none better than the CT full system. With a little jetting change my Outlaw rips with this pipe combo.

I just ordered the FMF 4.1 so I hope it will make me happy.
I'll post results when I get the new air filter on and the pipe and jets dialed in.

I don't know guys, I'm not saying the CT is not a good pipe but how can it make so much more power than all the other companies. I mean CT is a small outfit. For example FMF has ALOT more money and engineers to build a pipe. Same with HmF. How can CT have developed this "superpipe" that nobody else can match?

I just think there may be a little bit of hype and clique-iness going on with it.

that's kinda like saying why didn't ford build a ferrari before ferrari.

The answer is they didn't want to spend the time and money doing the R&D. the fmf and hmf answer is to slightly modify what they are already using so the plumbing matches up, they don't design a new pipe for each quad.

    just my $0.02

What about a mega bomb header with a yoshi or a hmf pipe slip on? What do you think?
