    cut fenders = dead battery

im just wondering how the pros do this when they take the key out as in cut the wires for the new plastics to go on cause my 400ex has a 250r hood on it and dont want the key back on so i just had the red and black wires touching all the time that went to the key so i can just start it up but since then im on my third battery and its not even been a year, how do i do it? do i just use a male and female plug in and put it on there and unplug it after every ride of what? what's the right way to do it?
