cheap 650 power adders and tricks?

just that, my buddys got a 650 and wants to power it up a little, low budget sorta thing thow. so what im asking is, is there any thing like on other quads you can grind out the exhaust welds and gain some and remove the choke and gain some, what can we do for free or cheap to gain some ponies on the 650, its the full baja package, if that makes any difference. and were not looking for more speed just more power.

here are the mods I have on my DS650X

    >Uni air filter

    >15 tooth front sprocket

    >Muffler tip and NO PACKING inside the can

    >Big Gun RevBox

I'm completely satisfied with it, usually when I'm t Pismo Beach or somewhere that I'm drag racing it a little I'll run the 15Tooth Front sprocket, but I honestly LOVE the OEM sprocket for desert riding.

In fact this last thanksgiving I went out to Mojave Desert with friends and ended up racing my buddy down this LONG Straight dirt road to camp....he has a new KX450F dirtbike...by 4th gear I was about a tire length in front of him and when I hit 5th, left in the dust.

not that I can beat him on trail for obvious width reasons, but I can always keep up, never be outran and have fun with only about $250 into my DS650 (not including all the ITP holeshots I go through...but you get it)

    Diesel101,
What type of rims are you running? I also have a 2007 ds650X and the stock rear rims have little bends on the inner side and I dont even have 10 hours on it yet. I now the rims on these quads have always had problems, my friends 2003 ds650 has also had problems with the rims. I am looking for very strong rims and I noticed that yours are aftermarket and I figured I would ask you about them.

PUT THAT PACKING BACK IN YOUR MUFFLER!!! your losing power and creating more turbulance in the exhaust losing air flow. Use the tip and take the baffle out.
