    sportsman 700 belt slip

Need help on this. After going through any amount of water my clutch/belt starts slipping. It eventually dries out and runs fine but driving me crazy. Has anyone encountered this and what did you do to fix it. I thought I might just run a K&N type filter to block some of the water but what will that do the cooling of the clutch/belt?

you have a tranny breather line leaking water, also pull the cover off and check the rubber gasket. try that. good luck!

also the backing plate could be leaking.as far as the cover gasket you can apply a lite layer of grease to it on both sides to help reseal it or just get a new one
