What's anyone doing to modify/strengthen these wanna be kickstarters on the etons. I know they claim to be emergency starters and one should use the starter. But when you get rid of the starter , there's got to be a bettr way.
Before I rip it apart and redesign it, anyone have any good fixes for the strippage and skipping that occurs inside? Every eton i've had or have been involved with has an issue with missing/stripping, and the return spring not returning.
I got the kick levers that take a bolt thru them. I went and ground some of the center out of the splinded piece for the bolt to go down thru...haven't stripped one yet.
On our 90 I put a kick level off a yukon 150 and bolted on it,same splines,it's a little longer and the part for your foot to go on is alot wider
As far as the return spring when I take the cover off to clean the variator I put some spray lube on it.
