    Water Skimming!

A while back i saw a picture in quadding magazine of this guy cruising across some water completely skimming the water. he was friggen flyin!

he was driving a LTZ450 Racer

you know how the snowmobiles do it... its obviously easy for them because they have paddles!!!
but i was wondering if any one on this entire forum has ever done it or has seen anyone do it?
i would love to learn... i have a place in mind here this weekend! but i would like a general idea of how to do it before i go flying flat on my face!

i have picked a spot that i relitively flat with a small body of water that isn't too deep if i dont make it!

heres a link to a pic i found of it!

hopefully i hear from you soon!

word of warning. If you watch some people do it, they will be flying and even have skis on the front. WHen they hit the water BAM!!! faceplant then right into the water. Take a video of it when you do it, i have to see it!

Iv,e done it ! I flipped off quad in water several times before i figured the speed i needed, was in 2ft water just flip off over bars and landed on back in water didn,t hurt at all only flip off if quads nose wheelie is coming over on you, will save yourself and quad. but speed like 5th and lean all the way back with arms locked straight and hold them locked all the way with butt on back of seat,my problem was the speed I had technique I was afraid of the speed factor and bit it several times before I had courage to do it.Not something to do for average rider can get hurt very fast so if your going to do be careful and have friends around in case things go wrong .

You wont flip if you let go when rear end is coming up,I would let my legs come over my head and land back first in water so the quad wouldn,t flip.thats just what I did to save the quad and myself from flipping over.it was a sand pit that filled with rain water no rocks and was 1 1/2 to 2ft deep Key IS SPEED AND LOCKED ARMS!

    Here's a friend doing it:

He since sold this 700r and now does it with his KTM 525XC.

The water is well over 12' deep about 10' behind him. So far they have gone over 330 foot crossings. The owner now makes them wear life jackets...lol:
