    450r transmission oil question.

    how much do you use?

    Be sure to use an 80wt gear saver type oil. I highly recommend the Maxima MTL 80.

    I used the Honda red bottle tranny stuff, and switched to Klotz tranny oil 80w. Seems to shift much smoother.

    You can use 10w40 in the tranny, but it's better to use a gear saver 80wt tranny oil. It's better and the great thing about the honda is that the two oils are separate and you can run a tranny specific oil in the gear box. Better for your gears and clutches to run the 80wt gear oil. Do what you want we're just here for advise
