no spark? kasea 90 help !!

we just got our kasea back together. new carb, intake and top end rebuild. quad ran great for about an 1/2 hour than it quit. no spark. tried new plug, checking connection on killswitch. took plastic off looking for a short in the wiring. wow. wires everywhere. we no longer use the battery. my question is what wires do i need and what can i get rid of? also what does the wires coming out of the top of the motor for? (4 wires) thanks for any help or ideas.

The only thing you need to keep are the wires to the stator,Coil, killswitch and cdi box. All of the others can go!!
Sounds to me like it might be the coil or stator.

I had a similar problem and when I traced the coil wires and one of the plugs was dirty. I cleaned it up and put it back together and it ran great. More than likely it is the coil wires.

thanks guys ofr your replies. i will check the plugs and i have a coil and cdi coming. i got rid of all the extra wiring. i tested the wires going to the cdi and i have spark, so i'm hoping it's not the stator.

When I took off my wire harnes... We blew the stator.
I don't know what I did wrong.... but as soon as I changed the stator, It worked.

Did you have the stator off the case? If you took it off to replace the crank or the bearings you have to make sure the crank spline is completely clean when you put your magneto back on. If there is a little bit of oil, it will cause it not to fire. If you clean it with carb cleaner or alcohol before you re install it you should be fine.

stator was shot... up and ready to race this weekend minus about 5 lbs of useless wires.
