As the 1 pm start time approached, the sun was high overhead and umbrellas were a welcome comfort to those not tuned into the florida weather. Jarod McClure awaits his call to the line as the 2008 season was fast approaching!

Sturdivant ran into an immediate problem when his machine failed to start. He was able to get it fired with some assistance, however when he shut it off it again refused to fire. He was towed to his pit for a battery change just minutes before the start
