    Need some KTM info

I race XC the northeast. Is the 525 to much for tight woods. Also how well do they start in gear. For dead engine starts?

heck no they aren't too tight for xc racing thats what they were built for, they will be just fine for dead engine starts, like i said before thats what ktm built them for. you will be nothing but happy with it.

I'm looking forward to my first seat time on a 525 next month, if the 450 is any guide I'd say the 525 will be an awesome short shiftin torquer.

Based on my YFZ 480 just grab a higher gear than you would normally on a 450 and use the bucket loads of low end - mid range to haul you through the trails. Numbingly quick and very smooth.

biggest "hassle" is that finding neutral is a real pain in the rear, 450 has no problems with clutch in gear starts, no reason way the 525 won't be the same ?

if you race the wnyoa series you will have no problems, you can always change gearing with sprocket to get a comfortable fit as well, a kid had one last year and had no problems

not to hard to handle in the woods might take some adjusting if you have been ridin kawi. LOL as for starting I've beed 1st one to move off the line in last 3 races just have to do some carb adjusting, maybe some guys haven't guess depends on where you are and what altitude. You'll be happy with it

WOW lots of WNYOA guys here! What class you guys riding in?
I rode a Kawi two years ago. Ive been on a Honda 450 for the last 2 years. Never changed my name.
Thanks for all the info on the KTM fellas. Probally not going to go with due to parts availability, and i cant find a dealer that will have one by April. They do look like a nice machine!

I don't get the Parts availability thing? Doesn't everyone use the Gore-net for parts? KTMtalk.com has vendors that ship pretty much the same day. also, what parts do you ever replace on these. I have an 04 exc and have only replaced 1 part, that was available online and thru my local dealer.
