    Angry 02 Big Bear Problem

i recently tried starting my 2002 big bear early this week, and it has not ran in about 2 years now. I bought a brand new battery, and it turns over, but as a give it gas it just shuts off. As i spray carb cleaners in the intake i can keep it running, but as soon as the throttle is pressed it shuts down.

    please help me asap.
    thank you

Is the choke working? (visual check)
If so is there fuel getting to the carb?
If so I would say to pull the carb off, give it a real good inspection(easy to do on that bike) and clean her out real good.

Get a nice clean surface a couple cans of carb cleaner some compressed air is nice to blow parts off as you take it apart.

I had mine off my big bear several times and they are a breeze to take apart and clean.

    Question carb

I bascically have the carb ready for removal. As i came to the throttle cable, I am in a bind. I removed the cover, and I am not to sure on how to remove it. I see two allen screws behind the throttle. Do i remove these 2 allen screws in order to remove the throttle???

    thank you

If I remember correctly where the cable goes into the carb there should be a housing along the side, like a metal plate with 3 or 4 screws holding it on. Take those screws out, remove the cover which exposes the end of the throttle cable. With your thumb on the throttle push the throttle open and with your other hand hold the cable whilen letting go of the throttle. This gives you the nec. play to remove the cable end.

    LACK OF POWER

I finally got the big bear to start and run at idle. I let her run for about 30 min, since its hasot ran in over 2 years now. When i put her i gear it is lacking power. Iam sure this is a fuel problem, but im not sure how to regulate it.

    anyone have any ideas???

    thank you
